About Julia:

Originally from Raleigh, NC, Julia Hoffman has been creating major works of art since the early 1990‘s. She progressed quickly and decided to relocate to Pennsylvania to attend the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts to pursue her passion as an artist. There she majored in Painting and worked with some of the best critics in the art community in Philadelphia. She learned the techniques of master painters and rapidly found inspiration to use these skills through figurative works. At the Academy she earned the Winsor Newton Portrait Prize in painting.

Later she continued her education and earned a BFA from the University of Pennsylvania. With a Bachelor’s degree in fine arts and inspiration from the city and those who inhabit it, she created figurative paintings that expressed movement and a true likeness of her subjects.

Soon after her studies Julia relocated to New York City were she now resides. She has taken on many commissions in portraiture and cityscapes from various patrons throughout Raleigh, NC over the years and was featured in a recent 2006 article in Living in Style magazine. Eager to take on new projects she continues to work in New York creating figurative paintings and cityscapes with wax and oil.
